I provide pediatric speech-language pathology services for children ages 2–18, including:
Speech sound development
Language delays and language-based learning challenges
Autism and social communication
AAC and functional communication
Parent coaching and family support
Teletherapy and rural access services
Consultations and second opinions
All services are individualized and grounded in evidence-based practice, with a strong focus on practical carryover into daily life.
-
The first step is to book a Parent Consultation.
This initial meeting allows us to:
Discuss your child’s communication needs
Clarify concerns and priorities
Review any existing reports or therapy history
Determine whether ongoing therapy, consultation, or guidance is the best next step
From there, we’ll decide together on a plan that fits your child and family.

I bring over fourteen years of experience working across clinical, school-based, and virtual settings, along with leadership and advocacy experience within the profession.
What families often appreciate most is:
Clear explanations without jargon
A calm, thoughtful approach to complex needs
Practical strategies families can use immediately
Strong emphasis on parent involvement and carryover
Experience navigating systems, funding, and access to care
I don’t just work with children—I support the people and environments around them.

Fees vary depending on the type of service provided (consultation, therapy, or review).
I am transparent about fees and will discuss costs during the initial Parent Consultation so families can make informed decisions. Many families are able to use private funding or disability supports toward services, and documentation for reimbursement can be provided when applicable.
-
Yes. I have extensive experience providing effective speech-language services through teletherapy.
Virtual services are ideal for:
Rural or remote families
Busy schedules
Children who engage well with online formats
Families seeking consistent access to experienced care
Tele-therapy is delivered securely and follows the same clinical standards as in-person services.
-
Parent involvement is strongly encouraged and often essential for meaningful progress.
Depending on your child’s needs, this may include:
Observing sessions
Participating in coaching
Practicing strategies between sessions
My goal is to support families in feeling confident and capable, not overwhelmed.
-
Every child is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all timeline.
Progress depends on factors such as:
The child’s individual profile
Goals and priorities
Consistency and carryover at home
Developmental readiness
I focus on setting clear goals and regularly reviewing progress so expectations remain realistic and transparent.
-
That’s exactly what a Parent Consultation is for.
Some families need reassurance, guidance, or a plan—rather than ongoing therapy. I’m happy to help clarify options and recommend next steps, even if that means monitoring or referring elsewhere.

All fees are private pay upon receipt of services; however, families can pursue reimbursement from their insurance provider. Julie does not direct-bill insurance companies or FSCD. Upon request, Julie can provide a detailed receipt to support your insurance claim. Many extended health benefit plans in Alberta and BC cover speech-language pathology services — contact your provider directly to confirm your coverage.

When choosing a speech-language pathologist for your child, look for: a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, registration with the provincial or state regulatory college (such as ACSLPA in Alberta), and ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) for US-based or dual-registered clinicians. Julie holds all of these credentials, with 15+ years of pediatric experience across clinical, school-based, and virtual settings in both Canada and the United States.

Your child may benefit from speech therapy if they are not using many words, are difficult to understand, become frustrated when communicating, are not combining words, have difficulty following directions, or seem to be struggling with play, social communication, or expressing their needs. A pediatric speech-language pathologist can help determine whether your child would benefit from support.

You can support your child’s speech and language development by using simple language during daily routines, pausing to give your child time to respond, expanding on what they say, reading books interactively, and creating natural opportunities for communication during play. Parent coaching can help you know what to do during the routines you are already doing every day.
